Cassava flour is a great alternative to traditional high carb, heavily processed tapioca flour and white flours. Because of its high resistant starch content, a type of starch that bypasses digestion and has properties similar to soluble fibre, cassava can satiate appetite effectively.
Consuming foods that are high in resistant starch may have several benefits for overall health. Heirloom Cassava flour is made by cutting the whole Cassava root (with its peel) and drying it. The dry Cassava is then milled into this fine flour that has excellent cooking and baking applications. No sweeteners, No preservatives, No added sugar.
Can be used savoury or sweet. Cassava flour can be used to make bread, cakes, waffles, pies, and other baked goods. It can even be used in dessert crusts, crumbles, smoothies, protein bars, and energy balls (after toasting it lightly). Normally 1 cup of flour can be substituted with 1 cup of cassava flour but note that it will depend on the recipe and the end product you are making too.
Cassava flour has a neutral aroma and taste. This product is harvested in a cottage industry initiative that does not use any chemical refining, additives, or preservatives to standardize the product.
