Sea Lettuce (Ulva), is technically an algae – a sea plant, part of the green seaweed group. It is harvested from the wild, air dried to preserve nutrients then milled to create our flakes.
Sea Lettuce Flakes are a nutritious garnish with a subtle, mildly peppery, sorrel like flavour. If you are anemic or need to supplement iodine these make a fabulous garnish – so easy to sprinkle it on what you are already eating rather than pay for expensive supplements you always forget to take!
Ingredients: Sea Lettuce (Ulva lactuca or spiralis) seaweed 100%.
Our Sea Lettuce flakes are harvested from an organically certified area in Europe which is Eco-cert Certified. Although sea lettuce grows all around New Zealand, we are not currently able to harvest it commercially due to regulations.
We test all our seaweeds for contaminants according to the ANZ Food Standards Code, even if they are imported.
